20 Jun 2005 - Regional Finalists National Teaching Awards 'Healthy School'

Having reached the regional final we were awarded a distinction for this class.
Many factors contributed towards this award, our whole school ethos is pivotal to being a healthy school.
Our headteacher has negotiated for the past 5 years with the catering company to improve our school meals.
The school feels that childrens emotional well being is just as important as their pysical well being.

One of the iniative the judges were very impressed with was the development of our own edible Victorian Kitchen Garden. This is a project that every pupil contributes towards and a group of parents organise and run.
We have used some of the produce during our PSHE project 'cooking our own healthy meals'.
